Winter Swap 2012

The Long Hair Community Discussion Boards - Powered by vBulletin

Hi All!

I have Finally, FINALLY mailed out all the replacements just today! Alvrodul, Amarante, Mascat, please be on the lookout for your package.

SO, I have had lots of interest in another Winter Swap, and as the site seems to be working well, I will do it yet again. Sign ups will Close Dec. 15th And gifts are Due at their destination no later than Feb 1st You will all receive your pair on Dec 16th.

What I would like though is to hold the ENTIRE information part of it through email. SO, if you're in, please send your LHC screenname, you real name, address, AND your wishlist with likes and dislikes to my email address luthienc@hotmail.com

Then post your willingness to join, and another copy of your wishlists in here.

Due to different issues in previous swaps, The Rules have changed this time around.

In order to join, you must have 100 posts on LHC, and have been a member for at least 60 days.If you have proven yourself in previous swaps you're golden. I will be pairing ladies according to the length of time they have spent here (the only exception being that EVERYONE who meets the swap requirement gets put into the draw to have Nightshade as their gifter)

The other rule that will be changing is that I am no longer taking responsibility for lost gifts. Nor will I be asking for gift angels. In the event of a missing gift, I will contact the person who was to have sent one, and it is their responsibility to replace, in this case. After the due date, which for this swap is February 1st, I will then be sharing the lists of pairings. In this way, I hope to ensure that each person who joins will be responsible for playing their part in the swap.

The rest of the swap is as always, please lets keep the cost of gifts between $20-$35. Re-homing hair toys is allowed, and this is at the discretion of the senders. Crafting is encouraged! Please ensure that your gifts are sent out in time to meet the February 1st deadline. Have tons of fun!

Just to clarify, gifts must ARRIVE at the giftees house by Feb 1? When is the draw date?

If so, then I am in, and will email and edit this with my wish list shortly.

Count me in! I have 45.5 inch dark brown hair witha Fushia and Green streak. It is pretty thick.

I for one love getting un-loved toys that you have sitting at home already, and right now I am particularly interested in wooden sticks with inlays, interesting grains, and colours. I do not use acrylic sticks, yet, but do like the Lady Idun ones.
I also LOVE forks, (for some reason jeterforks do not hold my hair well, I think it is the flatness)

My favourites right now are Grahtoe, Timberstone, ElkAndIron, WoodArtJewelry, Nightblooming, Round the Woods, Elymwold and MountainMusings,

I love anything very funky, or vintage, I am obsessed with jewellery (though my tastes run towards Antique, or very unique), small interesting trinket boxes, and anything nature inspired, oh, and scented oils like BPAL ( I am like musky scents herbs, and my all time favourite mix is Amber with vanilla) I am also a major tea lover, but all blends have to be caffeine free, as I am allergic.
My style is very feminine leaning towards, a gypsy, earth lover. I LOVE LOVE LOVE nailpolish especially duochromes, holos, and flakies, but also very unique coloured cremes. I am pretty much dying for OPI -Don't Talk Bach To Me

Favourite colours are all shades of green, purple, orange, jewel tones, and black.

Dislikes: food, pastel shades, anything that will tangle in my hair, plastic hair toys and ponyholders.

Who's next??!

Huzzah! Swap time is best time

I will ship anywhere that CanadaPost will.

Loves:

- I love hairsticks and forks of about a 6 inch working length.
- I particularly love natural woods, beautiful grain patterns, inlays, pretty gemstones and such and also admire pretty glass hairsticks too.
- Hand-me-downs are a-okay with me!
- I prefer gold, copper, and bronze tones rather than silver
- Necklaces - chain of 14 or 15 inches
- I love chocolates and baked goods and loose leaf teas.
- I mean it, I really love chocolate. Dark, milk, white, truffles, bars you name it!
- I also like mineral make up and "natural" goodies.
- I spin and knit with animal fibres like wool and alpaca. I especially love try local fibres if you have a cool native sheep breed nearby.
- I love handcrafted items
- I love local things! Even if it is just a pebble or a tiny vial of sand.
- I am on the look out for non-damaging silicone hair elastics that are about as big around as a dime. They are very cheap most places, but hard to find here in the right size!
- I use henna and am happy to try lots of different herbal hair concoctions and mixes.
- I love shampoo bars!
- I love colour! I like Autumn colours, jeweltones, rich super-saturated colours, not pastels.
- I love vintage, vintage-inspired, steampunk, fancy dress. There is probably nothing you can find that is too formal lol.

Not-so-loved -

- Barrettes and things like scrunchies - My hair eats them.
- I cannot have any sticky candies like taffy and toffee or super-hard things like nut brittles.
- Earrings - I do not have pierced ears and clip ons hurt my lobes.
- My hair also eats things made of plastic and I do not care to knit with it either.
- Please no perfumes. EOs are just fine.

I tried to give a nice big list to help as much as possible, but I am open to lots of things! I can also include a guest pass to my regular photo album if you are still stumped or just really nosey. I should mention that I don't do any holidays and would prefer not to receive religious items. Beautiful wintery things are just lovely of course

Onto the e-mailing!

Oh, how nice
I was wondering whether there would be another, semi-christmas swap.

Not sure whether I'll join again this time.
It depends on how much exams I'll have for school in januari, which I will hear in a couple of days.
I really hope there'll be just one or two so I can join

Oh! My first swap! I'd like to play please.
